Professional Safety Auditor Course

An Auditor must demonstrate that they have the fundamental knowledge of professional auditing practices. Through this 40-hour in-depth practical safety auditor course, you will learn how to discover circumstances, situations, equipment, and materials that may harm employees. This course will provide you with the knowledge, skills, and ability to perform a thorough safety audits and to utilize the three main tools of an auditor, Hazard Analysis, Site Safety Inspections, and Industrial Incident/Accident Investigations. Students are awarded a certification of completion at the conclusion of this course.


The objective of this course is to enable students to effectively audit facilities, processes and/or procedures to determine circumstances, situations, equipment or materials that may harm a person. It covers how to assess workplace hazards and determine abatement methods, how to inspect processes and procedures to ensure safety and detect any possible deficiencies, and how to investigate accidents and near accidents to determine root causes and correct or enhance processes and procedures to maximize safety.


Upon successful completion of this course, the students will be able to methodically assess the work place for potential hazards for human injury through detailed analysis and discovery, determine proper abatement methods to remove, isolate or reduce hazards and provide equipment for employee protection. The student will also understand the importance on the inspection process to continually monitor the workplace to ensure proper maintenance and compliance to procedures and ensure existing hazard controls are functioning adequately. The student will learn and demonstrate effective techniques and procedures to investigate accidents and near accidents so that root causes and deficiencies can be determined and proper corrective actions can be made in policies, procedures and training.
